„Public Info Center Svetlina” in Cherven briag Opened Doors

On November 10th, 2009 the Public Info Center "Svetlina" opened its office doors in Cherven briag. The Info Center is supported and funded by America for Bulgaria Foundation through the AGORA Platform project "Activating Communities through the Chitalishte Community Cultural Centers in Bulgaria".
The Public Info Center has new office equipment and a regular phone line for citizens' requests, comments and notifications is already operational.
The opening of the Info Center was honored by local authorities' representatives leaded by the deputy mayor of Cherven briag, representatives of many institutions and organizations and of course a lot of citizens.
The local priest Krasimir Lazarov performed a service for health, well-being and successful community work of the Info Center. The Chairperson of the Chitalishte "Svetlina" and Project Coordinator - Mr. Tihomir Konstantinov cut the ribbon with the wish for the citizens of Cherven briag to be able to find there answers and information on many issues related with their citizens' rights and duties.
So it happens 20 years after the symbolic date - November 10th that the citizens of Cherven briag has started again to talk about the need for active civil society. That is the main project idea of Chitalishte "Svetlina" that is implemented on the territory of Cherven briag by a team of 30 enthusiasts for the period of six months.
The goal of the Public Info Center in Cherven briag is to create an environment for active civic position through enhancement of the access to information and knowledge of citizens' rights and duties.
The team has already developed and approved the Center's Statute and went through a multi-module training:
- "Communication and Team Work Skills";
- "Knowing the Regulation Documents and Work with Media";
- "Human and Citizen Rights";
- "Skills for Public Problems Solving through Advocacy".
