Nikopol's Spiritual Leader with a Memorable Plate in Nikopol

On November 01st - the Day of Bulgaria's Spiritual Leaders in Nikopol was opened a Memorable Plate of the Nikopol's Spiritual Leaders, created entirely with donations of citizens and companies from Nikopol, Bulgaria and abroad. In the town and at the municipality as a whole a memorial of the spiritual leaders of the Nikopol area was not available. Thus, the idea to launch the civic initiative "Nikopols' Spiritual Leaders - the Big Capital of the Small Town" came to life. The initiative gathered friends and followers to support the design and creation of a Memorable plate and to renovate the children's section of the library. One year later, the eternity of the Nikopols' Spiritual Leaders deeds has an address - a Memorable Plate where one can bow their head in appreciation, think for a while, lay flowers and remember that long before dignified people had tirelessly worked for the nation, for adults and youngsters, for poor and rich, Bulgarians, Turkish, Jewish. The artistic contribution to the memorable plate was made by the sculpture Renato Dobrev.

During the official ceremony for the opening, appreciation to the spiritual leaders was granted by the Mayor of Nikopol municipality - Mr. Valeryi Jeliazkov, MD, Deputy mayors - Mrs. Nadia Bojinova and Mr. Turgai Kemalov, Chairperson of the Municipal Council - Mr. Penyo Stoyanov, from AGORA Platform - Mrs. Emilia Lissichkova, Chairperson of the Platforma and Mrs. Bojidara Ilieva, Programme Coordinator, father Sava - vicar general, mayors from the municipality, municipal councilors, secretaries of Chitalishtes from the municipality.

The citizens of Nikopol were greeted with a special letters sent by the Minister of Culture - Mr. Vezhdi Rashidov, the MPs and donors to the Nikopol's civic initiative - Mrs. Miglena Plugchieva and Mr. Delian Dobrev, as well as from the Australian donor - Mrs. Mercia Antony.

In the eve of the celebration, the Chitalishte library hosted children's gathering and a quiz for the spiritual leaders with students from "Hristo Botev" school - fourth grade. The children from the art section of the Chitalishte "Napredak 1871" exhibited their art works devoted to the spiritual leaders.
