Festival Season 2012 with AGORA

AGORA Platform launched the 2012 - 2013 Festival season with the opening of the second "Tradition Meets the Future" Festival at Yasen on May 26th - 27th, 2012 and proceeded on June 03rd, 2012 with the first edition of the Festival "Shareno kotle" - Culture and Traditions of Local Communities living in "Meden rudnik" residential district in Bourgas, organized by Chitalishte "Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii - 1985". AGORA invites you to the forthcoming festivals that will be held in Malko Turnovo, Asenovo, Ivailovgrad, Kurtovo Konare, Brestovica and Radilovo.
All the festivals are organized within the framework of AGORA Platform's project "Activating Communities through the Chitalishtes in Bulgaria: second phase", with the financial support of "America for Bulgaria" Foundation and the immense involvement, commitment and contribution of the locals.
The Festival "Po Malkotarnovski - ot izvora na Strandza" focused on the living heritage of the Strandza region and the typical local crafts. Its first edition is organized by Chitalishte "Prosveta-1914", Malko Turnovo and starts on July 29th - 30th, 2012.
The second edition of the Festival "Banatski Culinary Delights - the Traditions of My Village", organized by Chitalishte "Petar Parchevich-1927", village of Asenovo will officially be opened on August 18th, 2012.

The Festival of traditional food, livelihood and crafts "The Culinary Heritage of Trakya" with international participation will be held in Ivailovgrad on September 01st - 02nd, 2012.

The fourth edition of the festival in Kurtovo Konare will be held in September 2012 as "Festival of Peppers, Tomatos, Traditional Food and Crafts - Cultural Brand for Development, Regeneration and Increased Attractiveness of Stamboliyski Municipality" a Stamboliyski Municipality project under the Operational Programme "Regional Development" 2007 - 2013, scheme "Support for Creation and Promotion of Innovative Cultural Events". The festival is a continuation and upgrade of the efforts of Chitalishte "Luben Karavelov-1897", Kurtovo Konare invested in the previous three editions of the festival (2009, 2010, 2011). They were supported by AGORA Platform and "America for Bulgaria" Foundation.

"Festival of Grapes and Wine» is organized for a second year on September 14th - 15th, 2012 by Chitalishte "Saznanie-1873", village of Brestovica, Rodopy Municipality.
"Festival of the Keshkek and Peoples Skills", Radilovo is organized and will be held on September 22nd -23rd, 2012 by Chitalishte Zora-1903", Radilovo Village, Peshtera Municipality.
The aim of AGORA Platform's project "Activating Communities through the Chitalishta in Bulgaria: second phase" is to strengthen, enhance and promote the model of community participation and development through the Chitalishtes - the AGORA approach. As a result of the public discussions held for identification of local problems and in search for solutions, the residents of the eight settlements addressed them through the implementation of the local initiatives. The organization of the festivals involved in a dialogue and cooperation the residents of the settlements, local institutions, representatives of the local authorities and the business.
