On July 16th, 2009 in Chitalishte "St. St. Ciril and Methodius", Topolovgrad a community forum was held in the framework of the project "Activating Communities through the Chitalishta in Bulgaria".

Mrs. Krasimira Yatakchieva presented the work done prior to the event concerning the identification of important community problems. She urged the participants to share some more problems if any. As a result despite of the initially formulated problems like: separate waste collection outdoor bins situated around town; repair of the sport facilities; create and keep the green areas; purchase stage costumes for the traditional dance group of the Chitalishte; installation of decorative lighting on public buildings in town; create a mother's club and revive the plener "Sakar" a number of new proposals were made. Just to note a few: revive the Thracian gathering; Club "Young Professional"; initiatives with the involvement of young people; the cleanness around mountain shelters; inside repair works in the "St. Ilya" church; test the drinking water, etc.

Mr. Djondjorov clarified that most of the shared problems are in a process of solution though some require complex and long term actions that are time and resource consuming.
The work group members were selected at the end of the forum and they will have the task to prioritize the identified problems till the next public forum. The work group will follow the criteria agreed upon during the forum and will present to the public different options they can choose from. The detailed review of the problems will involve research of the normative base, the responsible institutions and the necessary procedures and actions for achieving the result.
The date of the next forum is July 30th, 2009 at 05:00 pm in Chitalishte "St. St. Ciril and Methodius".
